One of our partners, the Against Violent Extremism (AVE) Network, works with former violent extremists and survivors to reach at-risk youth through content creation and one to one connections. One AVE member, Abdullah-X, created this popular video challenging extremist beliefs. The clip has drawn more than 100,000 views and a 5,000-word response from an ISIS operative.

We draw inspiration from the AVE network to produce content that challenges the rationale for violent behavior. We target at-risk young people via sophisticated technology platforms, online advertising, professionally produced video and film festival partnerships.

Grassroots Outreach

Through a unique mixture of former extremists, community activists, business leaders and tech entrepreneurs, we identify at-risk young people through platforms like Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. We develop detailed online profiles of our target audience.

Extremism Task Force

A dream team of technology entrepreneurs and executives come together with community activists to identify online patterns of individuals at risk of radicalization, then intervene and track the effectiveness of messages and strategies.

Network Growth

Against Violent Extremism is uniquely positioned to make real progress countering extremism because of the strength of its inspiring network. Hundreds of former extremists and violent extremism survivors are already AVE members. Growing this network is a key component.

An Alternative to Extremism

Through AVE, hundreds of individuals will be de-radicalized annually. Our goal is to mobilize exit movements that support former extremists as they disengage from extremist ideologies and rejoin mainstream society.
